Rememberance DayThe noise was devastating; bombs and gunfire spreading like poison across the battlefield. Screams of pain and cries for help echoed across No Man’s Land. The smell of rotting corpses and blood reached into your mind and stuck there. Bones littered the ground as huge rats scoured the area for fresh meat. I will never forget this day. The trenches were like muddy jails, and there was almost no food or water. Machine guns rattled outside. The dead body of your friend sat beside you.
